I Love... Handwritten Love Letters

Now call me old fashioned or call me an old romantic but I am totally loving 'proper' handwritten love letters. The opening of the envelope, the reading of your partner's thoughts, the time invested and the trouble taken. How gorgeous...

We text, we tweet, we e-mail and we chat on the phone almost continually but it's all such 'quick' contact. There's something deeply moving about receiving a real letter, it feels like such a treat and it makes you feel very special.

So, if you're looking for a truly personal touch for your wedding, how about picking up a pen and writing some letters? Your partner, your parents, your bridesmaids - they're all important people and they would all love a letter. Tell them why they're special, re-live past events & memories and open your heart. All those things that you can't or don't know how to say are so much easier to express when you write them down.

Why not make the writing a treat for you too - beautiful paper, a special pen (Bic biros just won't do here) and heavy envelopes. Add some ribbon and your best handwriting and you'll have created something special and something truly unique.

And whilst I know it's not the done thing to give just so we can receive, but if you'd like to be the reader not just the writer of a love letter, you could always leave this blog post open on your partner's laptop... ;-)
