Another post inspired by sunny days - yesterday, as a post-school no-homework treat, my son and I had a walk through the fields to our village shop to buy ourselves an ice-lolly. Resting in the freezer was a block of Neapolitan ice-cream, old school stuff in stripes of pink, brown and white, ready to cut into slippery slabs of gorgeousness.
So, as you can imagine, I was inspired by the colour palette so after finishing my ice-lolly, I started scouting around for some ideas to make the most of this yummy colour combination. And, even if you're not getting married, who could/would say no to Neapolitan striped Martini jellies? No-one I know, that's for sure...
Above - you don't need to have ice cream to get the Neapolitan look, these delectable cheesecakes fit the bill perfectly. Love the pink bon-bons atop the cream - you could have a trio of bon-bons as Neapolitian themed favours. Image - Bakers Royale
Above - pinks, whites & browns, this is a gorgeous Neapolitan look that kept things elegant by limiting the pastel pink. Those chocolate brown dresses are positively edible (and definitely practical after the day too) Image - Bos Photography
Above - love this Neapolitan drinks table with, what else, strawberry, chocolate & vanilla flavoured milks. Milkshakes in the gorgeous milk bottles that were featured yesterday? Utterly perfect... Image - Elizabeth Anne Designs
Above - Neapolitan Martini jelly shots on sticks? Oh. My. Goodness. I am tempted to take the rest of the day off to perfect this recipe (just so I can report back to you, of course!) Image - Jelly Shot Test Kitchen
Above - you all know my love of cake so you're surely not surprised that I'd include a stripy slice of something nice in this post? Totally loving the flavoured sponge layers here, what a fab surprise for guests when their plates arrive? Image - Marketplace Weddings
Above - an ice cream inspired dessert buffet, complete with the Neapolitan coloured backdrop? Milkshakes, cones, flowers in oversized waver-esque containers and a prettily coloured cloth? Perfect. Image - The Tom Kat Studio
Above - Now this is quite simple but the way those larger arrangements look like cones with vanilla ice cream toppings just makes me smile. Would like to have see this table being used for seating cards or favours because it would certainly set the scene... Image - The White Library
