In The Mood - Cameo Inspiration

Now, I've called this post 'cameo inspiration' because I'm sure if I said 'pink & black inspiration' some of you would have pulled faces, rolled your eyes and imagined neon pink and jet black weirdness. I promise you cameo colour schemes are way more sophisticated, delicate, charming and just out-and-out pretty than you might have thought...

I also adore cameo schemes because they work perfectly with some of my favourite flowers - anemones. I just love these for their black centres and their shape which just reminds me of a child drawing an outline of a flower. They're altogether beautiful and really rather show-stopping. As you can see below, the little drops of black into the scheme stop pastel pinks becoming too sickly and gives them a bit more pop and wow.

So on with the images...

Above - the cameo brooch with it's colour and black is the ultimate inspiration for this look so these favours with cameo detailing are the ideal accessory. Love those black rimmed plates too and the napkins with the black stitched. Fabulous attention to detail. Image - Bride

Above - this is a fabulous pale cameo and that bouquet is rather gorgeous. The great think about a cameo scheme, from a chap's point of view, is that they can rock the black suit & tie combo and it works wonderfully! Image - Elizabeth Anne Designs

Above - right, readers, I'm sure you can see straight away what pains me about this image. Yes, that creased table cloth will no doubt give me nightmares but I love the cameo themed dessert table but for once, my eye is drawn from the cakes to the creases. Sigh... Image - via Save The Date 4 Cupcakes

Above - such a perfect details for a cameo theme and a fabulous way to incorporate perhaps an heirloom brooch Image - Inspiring Pretty

Above - another cameo look that keeps with the oh-so on trend white bride look. Fluffy white flowers, a white stem wrap and a beautiful white cameo. Gorgeous. Image - Inspiring Pretty

Above - what an interesting invitation package with a rough fabric and a delicate cameo brooch closure. So pretty and so unexpected. Image - Invitation Crush

Above - another great look. Adore the groom's pinstripe natty number and the black trimmed ribbons on the bouquet are heaven. The pale pink flowers and matching shoes are yummy but it's the hem of that gown that's getting all the attention here and with good reason - it's fab! Image - Martha Stewart

Above - what I like best about this rather pink set up are the black accents - in the floral arrangements and those containers. They add some highlights, they bring the cameo in and they take the over cuteness of the all pink look away. Image - Martha Stewart

Above - a sweeter cameo accessory here with the accents on the tealight holders, the lace overlay on the table and the pretty rimmed plate. Definitely a delicate look that's vintage but avoids the ditsy kitsch if that's not your thing. Image - Nicole Hill Gerulat

Above - ahhhhhh anenomes. I'm ending the piece on something I just love. These gorgeous flowers just bring cameo to life and they're so visually impressive, definitely for the bride who wants some wow factor! Image - via Wedding Bee
