In The Mood - Blush Inspiration

Blush pink is such a gorgeous colour for weddings - it's delicate, it's feminine, it's incredibly flattering and, if you're thinking "well, that's all very well but I can't see my man loving the blush pink as much as me" - it works wonderfully with grey! It's also the colour that's all over the bridal shows in NY right now.

I am a big fan of blush pink and I love the gowns with a slight touch of colour, perfect if you'd like something a little different to ivory but don't want to go too bold. It's a colour for elegant weddings but it has a rather fabulous 'grown up girlie' quality to it that is understated but very sure of it's self. Perfect for the confident bride who wants to show her vulnerable side...

Above - what a gorgeous drinks table. I love the banner (great DIY!), the floral arrangement is just heaven (you could move this from ceremony to reception to make the most of these flowers) and the grey vase is the perfect foil to the delicate pink. If this was what greeted you when you arrived at the reception, it would speak volumes about the undeniable style of the day to come. Image - Martha Stewart

Above - oooh Vera Wang, you make me a little lightheaded. Love the ruffled edging to this gown which is working that 'grown up girlie' look in a way that is just jaw-dropping. Heavenly. Image - via Brides

Above - layers, a waist enhancing statement bow, a sweetheart neckline and a lovely low back. Another beautiful gown that's oh-so elegant and soft with a cool quirky edge. Image - Maria Lucia Hohan

Above - a very pretty table setting (and look, no creases on that table cloth - hurrah!). The papery petals of the Ranunculus in that floral display are perfect for a delicate style and the candles on that raised mirror light them gently too which is fabulous. The ribbon wrap around the base of the vase hides the ends of the stems which is a fabulous attention to detail. Love those blush pink charge plates too for a small splash of colour. Just gorgeous. Above - pretty pink peep toes! Love the ruffled fabric here too - fabulously feminine. You'll need a perfect pedi to match these sweet shoes. Image - Mi Belle Photography

Above - more delights from Vera Wang. I love the haphazard look of that skirt - the fabric looks as if it's just tumbling and falling into beautiful pools. There's no regimented structure to this dreamy gown and it's all the better for it. Image - Vera Wang

Above - if you're going for 'delicate and girlie', how perfect are these pretty plates of macarons? These would make ideal favours or serve plates of them with post dinner coffee. They match the elegant look of blush pink perfect (and such a pretty scalloped plate too)  Image - via Chunky Pineapple

Above - a more embellished look but the sweetly layered flowers are still being used as they're key to the blush pink look. The fabric covered containers, wrapped with ribbon and decorated with sparkles are at the uber glam end of the blush pink scale. The addition of the cream flowers add some nice depth to the arrangement as well which is almost essential to help that pale pink pack a little more punch. Image - via Karen Tran

Above - more blush goodness, this time with Peonies which are bigger but still delicate with those layers. I love the tones here, the slightly informal look that's stayed natural. If you want a very structured look, then blush pink isn't for you, it looks best with a hint of looseness. Image - via pinkpolkadotspearlsohmy

Above - I would love love LOVE to wear this gown. That deep plunging v neck is literally calling to me and that detailing at the waist is just heaven. The skirt is swirly girlie and totally gorgeous. Image - Wedding Bee

Above - if you want your blush bouquet with a bit more grrrrrrrr than something that's pure girlie then definitely consider anenomes. Their grey-black centres are oh-so striking and the ribbon wrapped stem is gorgeous. Love this bouquet. Image - Wedding by Color
